For main school the doors are open from 08.55 hrs and the teaching staff will be in their classrooms ready to receive the children from this time. The school doors are open for the afternoon sessions and again the teaching staff will be in their classrooms ready to receive children.

Children who arrive late are forming not only bad habits for their future, but also upset the class routine. Any child who does arrive late, either morning or afternoon, must be handed over to a member of staff. If the cloakroom door has already been locked, the child should be brought to the school office, where the parent will be asked to enter the child’s name in the late book. This is to ensure that the child will be marked present in the attendance register as soon as possible.

Please ensure that your child is brought to school and met from school by a responsible adult whom we know. Please make yourself known to the class teacher and keep us informed as to any changes with regard to the adult bringing/collecting your child.

Please leave your child at the school cloakroom door at the beginning of each session. The children will be brought to the cloakroom door at the end of each session and handed over to you.

Please ensure you are punctual. Parents who are late will be required to collect their child from the school office and sign the late book.
Holiday Dates
Holiday dates are published regularly and sent home to parents. The Local Authority requires a form to be completed if a child is to accompany his/her parents on holiday during term time. The necessary forms are available from the school office. Parents have a legal duty to ensure their child’s regular attendance at school.
Unscheduled Closures
It is impossible to plan for every eventuality, but it would be helpful if parents were to consider that in the severest of weather conditions it is possible that no member of staff reaches school. Children should not be sent to school unaccompanied, because there may be no teaching staff to provide supervision. Parents can obtain information regarding school closure from the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham website. There will be a section on School Status and this will enable parents to see if the school is closed, partially open or open.   Parents will also be informed by group call and information will be displayed on the school website

N.B. In the event of other or unforeseen emergencies, decisions will be made by the Headteacher or Senior Member of Staff at the time.

School Closures
Parents can obtain information regarding school closure from the Borough website. Please click on schools and scroll down to school status. Click on school status and this section will advise as to any unexpected school closure.
